BLAST & IED PROTECTION
BLAST PROTECTION PRODUCTS FROM ASL
We supply rigid and flexible blast suppression products to clients around the world. Our blast protection solutions are designed to keep personnel safe whilst awaiting the arrival of EOD disposal operators.
BLAST CONTAINER
The Blast Container is a cylindrical assembly consisting of composite woven fibres, designed to withstand blast and fragments from an explosive device containing up to 500g (16 oz.) of PE4.
The container enables the user to contain a suspect explosive device while awaiting the arrival of a bomb disposal team.
With a marked datum point on the outside face of the container, the bomb disposal team are able to scan and determine the threat, before taking appropriate action.
The container consists of three components: the main unit, detachable base plate and a removable retaining bag with handles.
Specifications:
Maximum charge capacity 500-700g
Height - 900mm
Outer diameter - 535mm
Inner diameter - 517mm
Wall thickness - 18mm
Weight - 50 kg
BLAST SUPPRESSION BLANKETS
Blast Suppression Blankets are designed to suppress the blast fragmentation from an improvised explosive device contained in a small package. The blankets are independently tested against 400m/s and 500m/s fragments.
The safety circle should be placed around the suspect item and then the blanket is carefully placed over the safety circle surrounding the device. Should the device detonate, the safety circle will flex and contain the device fragments.
Our Blast Suppression Blankets
are manufactured using multiple layers of ballistic material enclosed in a heavy-duty nylon cover.
These blankets are supplied with lifting straps and a bag for ease of transportation.
Blast Suppression Blankets protection levels:
Level 1: Fragment velocity
1,312 ft./sec (400 m/sec) V50 standardLevel 2: Fragment velocity
1,640 ft./sec (500 m/sec) V50 standard
FOLDING BLAST CONTAINER
The ASL GRP folding blast container is a a light-weight, easy to assemble, and store, containment vessel.
The folding blast container will contain a suspect explosive device while awaiting the arrival of a bomb disposal team.
Designed to withstand blast and fragments from an explosive device containing up to 200g of PE4.
When folded into its storage position, the container will fit in the spare tyre compartment of a vehicle, ideal for Police, fire or security fleets.
Fold points are stitched in red. Quick pressure should be applied to the centre ring diagonals, which naturally makes the container twist.
Repeat the process until all three ring sections have collapsed. Apply pressure to the top of the folded container to compress further.
